Surfboards California are shaped by Christian Beamish in Carpenteria, CA. His boards are as functional as they are fun. When Christian's not shaping, his creativity can found channeled into his writing. He often writes for The Surfers Journal and has a novel documenting his adventures sailing and surfing up and down the Pacific Coast. Oh yeah.. he also surfs Mavericks on his self shaped guns.
The King Fish is an elonagated. wide point foward fish. The overall outline is quite narrow and the tail pulls in to a small swallow. The rails are full and slightly turned down. The rocker profile is well balanced promoting a free trim feeling but still allowing smooth turns from the tail. The bottom contour inlcudes a shallow roll starting in the nose that quickly turns into a sprial vee that runs the remainder of ther board through the fins. Whether using the King Fish as your step-up when the waves get a bit bigger or when you're just tryna get your glide on, this sled will meet all your aquatic needs.

The Daydream Research Center curates a selection of boards that are best suited for intermediate or higher skill level. The design attributes of these boards can be difficult for those with less surfing experience to enjoy. For surfers who are just starting out, we highly recommend learning on surfboards that are designed for beginners and are happy to help point you in the right direction to find shops that have boards available for your needs. We want to create the best experience for our members and align them with boards that complement their skill level.
Day Pass Membership - This is a walk-in offer intended for folks that are not in the neighborhood who would like to have access to boards from the Research Center quiver that are not reserved for the day they visiting. Boards will need to be returned within 24 hours and Single Session.
Monthly Membership - Monthly Members of the Research Center are allowed up to a 3 day holding period for each board. Ongoing files will be kept to document the experimentation process, this can also be used for custom board ordering through the shapers we work with.
Extended Membership - Members have the same benefits as Monthly Members and are allowed holding periods of 7 days.
